May 14, 2021GROUP C COMEBACK POSTPONED
Podcast: Norbert Ockenga with Jochen Nerpel
Actually, we would all be in Hockenheim right now. Instead, we're stuck in our home offices - because the epidemic has also put an end to the comeback of Group C, which was planned for this weekend.
The mighty sports prototypes from the eighties and nineties should have been the new flagship of the Hockenheim Historic, after former team boss Fritz Gebhardt had pushed for and made possible the return of the thunderbirds to historic motorsport in Germany. But the Jim Clark Revival in Baden had to be postponed - but since Thursday the event has a new date: the last weekend in August.
In the current issue of the magazine PITWALK, the postponement is already extensively discussed and put into a context that reaches as far as the USA and Russia. Now PITCAST producer and PITWALK editor-in-chief Norbert Ockenga talks to Jochen Nerpel, the managing director of Hockenheim-Ring GmbH. In the interview, even more exciting aspects and connections regarding the effects of Corona on German motorsports and race organizers come up than were previously known.
The entire PITWALK issues with editorial content on Group C can be found on pitwalk.de under the menu item PITSHOP.
The original German Discussion can be heard in its entirety under:
